Sucre City Tour - Half Day (private)As the Colonial “white” city of Sucre has so many temples and old wooden balcony houses, we only visit the most important ones. We will see a lot of them on the way, because we will go walking in the old part of the city.First we pick you up from your hotel and then we visit the following places:Main Square (Plaza 25 de Mayo). It is located in the center of the city. We walk around the square admiring the outsides of the main buildings such as the Town Hall, the House of Liberty, and Prefecture of the department and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Afterwards we go to ASUR.Indigenous Textile Museum ASUR, where you can see all kind of weavings from different Bolivian cultures. Also you have the opportunity to see skillful weavers demonstrating the techniques to manufacture indigenous textiles. Then we go walking to “La Recoleta”. La Recoleta, it is a historical place because the city was founded there and it is the highest part of the city so you have a wonderful view of the city.Back to the hotel at 12:00 approx(The program can be modified according to the client’s interest) Details Private Service It starts at 09:00 or 14:30 from your hotel It takes 3 hours. It is a true collection of the eclectic European architecture. General Cemetery, we return to the city to visit the cemetery that hosts many important personages and often the university students choose this place to study because of its peaceful areas.Simon Bolivar Park, another quiet place. It represents a sample of the French influence. There is a replica of the Eiffel tower and the Arch of triumph. Tarabuco - Full Day with public bus Tarabuco is a colonial village located 64 kms from Sucre, 1 hrs. by car. Every Sunday there is the most colorful and sprawling markets of South America which features high quality craftsmanship like Charangos, Ponchos, pullovers and weavings. Its dances, music, dresses and traditions keep the Inca (Quechua) culture alive.Tarabuco is also famous because of its Pujllay (Tarabuco’s Carnival), this fest commemorates the battle of March 12 of 1816 in which the villagers defended themselves under the leadership of Doña Juana Azurduy de Padilla, and liberated the town from Spanish forces. Tarabuco - Private Tour - Full Day Tarabuco is a small and colonial, indigenous village located in the south east of Sucre. It is 64 km. away from Sucre.The weather is colder than Sucre, the trip takes 1 hour and a half and the road is paved. It is one of the most important centers of attraction because of its dances, music, costumes and traditions that remains until now. The small village of Tarabuco lives a double life alike a super hero – from Monday to Saturday; it is a sleepy little village….but on Sundays it is transformed as if by magic, into a colorful, bustling market attracting indigenous people from all over Bolivia.Wearing traditional costume consisting of extraordinary pom-pom and Spanish Conquistador hats, woven skirts and cloaks, the market traders help the streets to become into a living, breathing atmosphere. Tourists and native’s alike throng amongst this vibrant street fair haggling for goods such as native weavings, vegetables, coca leaf, dyes or colored thread, kitchen utensils and even machetes! This market is a unique experience and definitely worth checking out for an authentic Andean shopping extravaganza.
