Sommige stenen zijn maar liefst 9 meter hoog en wegen haast 350 ton. De Heilge Vallei en door naar Aguas CalientesTour in de Heilige ValleiTrein naar Aguas CalientesOvernachting in twee sterren Hotel in Aguas CalientesDeze tour vertrekt dagelijks, start om 9.00h. We bezoeken het dorp Pisac en haar traditionele markt, de ruines van Pisac, het plaatsje Urubamba bekend om de overheerlijk rivierforellen en uiteindelijk de ruïnes van Ollantaytambo. Om negen uur in de ochtend worden jullie opgehaald bij het hotel. We rijden naar Pisac, zo’n 32 km rijden vanuit Cusco. Hier hebben we een mooi overzicht op de Heilige Vallei van de Inca’s en de stad Taray. We bezoeken hier de ruines van Pisac (die ook wel het Kleine machu Pichu worden genoemd) en de markt van Pisac met typische Peruaanse souvenirs en producten. Vervolgens rijden we verder naar Urubamba voor de lunch en dan verder naar Ollantaytambo waar we de indrukwekkende ruines zullen bezichtigen. Vervolgens nemen we de trein naar Aguas Calientes waar de nacht zullen doorbrengen om de volgende dag in alle vroegte als eerste Machu Pichu te bezoeken (in bus of te voet, indien gewenst - min of meer anderhalf uur klimmen)Niet inbegrepen :Lunch in UrubambaBoleto Turistico Dag 3 Dag 4 Machu Pichu Dag 5 Vrije dag of optioneel Moras, Moray, Salinas Dag 6Dag 7Dag 8Dag 9 Day 2: To see the giant otters we will have to get up very early and walk with our guide approx. 5 kmts. to Cocococha oxbow lake. On the way we will have the opportunity to observe plants, exotic insects, colorful butterflies, birds, monkeys and, with a bit of luck, perhaps even see some of the large mammals. After arriving to the lake we will hide in a strategic hiding place and will wait the otters to appear to be observed. While waiting we will take the chance to have a refreshment. Afterwards canoes will be available for us to go for a short ride around the lake watching the wildlife on the shoreline. Back in the lodge we will probably have a late lunch and also have the afternoon free for relaxing or doing independent activities for those who wish to do them. Before the sun sets we will do with our guide a short afternoon walk to the Sunset Point and watch the beautiful Amazon rainforest sunset. After the sun sets we will board the canoes once again to look for and watch caimans with torches.Day 3: Early wake up to visit the small clay lick (Colpa Chica) which is located about 15 minutes from the lodge by boat. It is a clay lick where macaws and other parrot species gather every morning to feed themselves from the mineral rich soil. It is an unforgettable spectacle full of colour and sounds. We will return to the lodge walking on the “Colpita” where we could continue appreciating the flora and fauna of the rainforest, If the passenger does not wish to make the walk is it also possible to return to the lodge by the boat. Back at the lodge we will have breakfast with our guide. After having had breakfast we will visit a “chacra” of the native community nearby where we can see a little of their cultivating activities and Amazon rainforest medicinal plants.
